Introducing Usui/Holy Fire Reiki

The next step in the Evolution of Reiki

Jessica was there!

In January 2014 I had the great honor of being in Maui at the time of the very first Holy Fire Reiki Master class. Since then I have been part of a pilot program, quietly teaching Usui Holy Fire Reiki in all my Reiki classes, using it in my healing nights, and my personal practice. I have continued to receive training with William on the Holy Fire, and continued to work with it on my own. In April, 2014, the International Center for Reiki Training announced this program.

Amazing - Even after 20 years of Reiki

The energy is amazing. I find it makes the Reiki 1&2 stronger and more effective, and it has huge possibilities for spiritual growth at the master and Karuna. I think of it as a more powerful, higher level spiritual light shining through the windows of Reiki and into humanity.

I had been doing Reiki for over 20 years, but since I earned Holy Fire in Jan 2014, I feel major healing occurring on deep levels of myself. I procrastinate less, and relax more. I am finding it easier to work with areas of difficulty in my life, and to help others work through there areas of difficulty. Holy Fire Reiki is good for helping us connect more clearly to divine guidance.

In my personal work with it, I feel this energy can heal the deeper wounds of the soul, generational wounds, and release and heal any heavy energies associated with them.

Reiki has always Evolved

The more I learn about history of Reiki, the more i learn that it has always been a living system, constantly growing and changing.

Reiki started in the early 1900s during a period of radical change and modernization of Japan. Hayashi worked to make Reiki easier for ordinary people to learn, and helped Hawayo Takata adapt Reiki to the needs of the west. Takata continued to evolve the system, dropping some of the Japanese techniques, and telling everyone Reiki had a Christian orgin. After Hawayo Takata passed in 1980. Different systems of attunements evolved. I am delighted to be part of its evolution, in the late 90’s with Karuna, and now with the Holy Fire energy.

Holy Fire Usui Reiki classes have more focus on meditation and inner experience. My classes will continue to evolve to fit this new format.

Holy Fire Frequently Asked Questions

(Holy Fire Faq by Jessica Miller, with thanks to William Rand, and Laurelle Gaia)

What is Usui / Holy Fire Reiki?

Usui / Holy Fire Reiki is a new form of Reiki introduced by William Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. The energy is more refined than Usui Reiki and even Karuna Reiki, and comes from a very high level of spiritual consciousness.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy healing that empowers the hands with the the healing power of Ki. It requires no natural healing/intuitive ability, particular beliefs or exercise, and is transferred from teacher to student. The system has continued to evolve in both Japan and U.S. since its beginning with Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, and is practiced by millions of practitioners world wide.

Are Usui/Holy Fire Reiki classes different from Usui/Tibetan Reiki the center taught?

No and yes!

In the Reiki 1&2 class nothing really changes from the student's perspective, other than an additional meditation, but Reiki 1&2 students seem to be having an easier time perceiving and using the Reiki energy. Current Reiki practitioners repeating the class report a greater sense of spiritual fulfillment. The attunement method uses the Holy Fire energy, but this difference is invisible to the student.

In the ART/Reiki Master class, the Advanced Reiki Training day still focuses on the traditional Usui Reiki Master symbol, but includes a powerful pre-attunement to prepare the students system for the Holy Fire energy. The Reiki healing grid is being taught using the World Peace Grid, and the aura clearing technique is unchanged.

With the Reiki Master class, the student receives the new Holy Fire energies through a meditation process called ignitions, and learn to do a much easier style of Reiki attunements. There are a number of new ideas and concepts, as well as how to teach all levels of Reiki. The non-traditional Tibetan Reiki symbols and the Antahkarana material has been dropped.

If I have already Taken Reiki Master, why do I have to repeat the class

Answer by William Rand: http://www.reiki.org/holyfire.html . The Reiki Holy Fire training is done over a period of 3 days in either the ART/Master or the Karuna Reiki® training. This is a necessary time period, even for those who are already Usui or Karuna Reiki® Masters. There are several reasons for this. First of all, there is the time period necessary after the pre-ignition in order for the purification process to take place prior to the first ignition. This is a minimum of 24 hours. There are 2 Holy Fire ignitions and the Healing Fire ignition, plus the Holy Love and Heavenly Banquet Hall meditations which must be spread out over the additional 2 days. In addition, the Holy Fire training creates a significant shift in the student's energy in which restrictive patterns are replaced with Holy Fire. This shift takes time and also needs to be done in a supportive environment in the presence of the teacher and other students. In addition (back to Jessica) the attunemenets are substantially different, and should be learned and practiced.

Why call it Holy Fire, it is Religious?

The idea of a holy spiritual fire is common to many spiritual traditions. It is a metaphor for cleansing fire, transformation, purification, the sacred energy beyond the world. The word holy has its root in wholeness. We use Holy Fire as the name for this system for an energy that creates wholeness. That said, it feels to many like Usui / Holy Fire Reiki strengthens the connection between the individual and Divine Source, by whatever names one knows and loves. While some teachers including Willliam Rand, feel it has being connected more deeply to Jesus, other have felt it connects them directly to another very high spiritual being, such as Kwan Yin, or connects them to however they envision god directly. Like Usui Reiki, Usui/Holy Fire is not religious, there is no dogma or beliefs, and people of all religious traditions and viewpoints are welcome to attend.

How do I Find a Teacher for Usui/Holy Fire Reiki?
Are Manuals Available for Usui/Holy Fire Reiki and Usui/Tibetans Reiki?
Can you Teach Both Usui/Holy Fire and Usui/Tibetan Reiki?

Jessica Miller's schedule can be found on ReikiMastery.com , all of her classes are using the Usui/Holy Fire Materials.

PLTs (ICRTs Professional Licensed Teachers) that are teaching Holy Fire can be found at http://www.reiki.org/ReikiClasses/Schedule.html .

Manuals for Usui/Tibetan Reiki will continue to be available from the Reiki.org webstore. Manuals for Usui/Holy Fire Reiki will be available starting in April 2014 for those having taken that level of Holy Fire Master Training, and Holy Fire Karuna training. The Reiki 1&2 will be updated.

Usui/Holy Fire energy is considered a major upgrade, so going back and forth between it and Usui/Tibetan Reiki is not recommended.

Why are the Tibetan Symbols/Antahkarana no longer being used?

With the new energies coming in, William felt strongly guided to add them to our Reiki classes. My feeling is that because the Usui Reiki symbols of course had to remain, and so it made the most sense to replace the Tibetan symbols, which were not part of traditional Reiki anyways.

Experiment has found that the new symbols have far more powerful and higher vibrational energy than the Tibetan symbols it replaces. Those taking Holy Fire Master and Holy Fire Karuna energy are strongly encouraged to no longer use the Tibetan symbols.

This energy also allows a simpler attunement, with no violet breath, no root lock, nor tongue on roof of mouth to remember. Plus, many students fine it more powerful.

The Antahkarana ( http://www.reiki.org/download/antahkaranas.pdf ) is also being replaced with discussion of the higher energy World Peace Grid. http://www.reiki.org/globalhealing/northandsouthpolehomepage.html

Are Reiki Guides Part of Usui/Holy Fire Reiki ?

According to Laurelle Gaia "The Holy Fire itself provides guidance." The purpose of spirit guides is to guide us to Source. Holy Fire is the direct connection to Source. You may find that guides from the third heaven (dwelling place of Source) may still bring you messages, as they are messengers of the Holy fire. If you are already working with with guides that are compatible with Holy Fire, you will still find them helpful. As in all phases of our spiritual journey, guides come and go as we heal and grow.” From faq below: https://www.reikiclasses.com/reikiclasses/usui-holy-fire-reiki-faq/

Reaching for the Highest Heaven

Usui Holy Fire Reiki comes from the Third Heaven, or Highest level of heaven. The first heaven is the ordinary world, the second heaven is the land of nonphysical energies, including ghosts and spirits, the Third Heaven is the realm of God and the highest levels of spiritual energies.
